In a nutshell, I have spent most of my twenty-five year career in the corporate world looking after those for whom the success of the entire working day rests on having a well behaved PC.

I thoroughly enjoyed this for three simple reasons – I like people, I like IT and I like being able to act as an intermediary between those who deliver and roll out the software and systems and those who are actually on the receiving end of it.   This is a gap that is not always filled, often because not all parties speak the same language, and which can result in a lot of unnecessary frustration for all concerned.

• worked with products such as, in the early years, dbase II, dbase III, Lotus 123 and WordStar and more recently, up-to-date versions of Microsoft Office

• developed and implemented streamlined business processes and automated templates

• installed networks and file servers to provide centralised data stores and shared access to common documents

• provided a specialised support service to people in Jersey, Guernsey and Isle of Man
